We are all familiar with left brain usage. After all, that is the main focus of education. It is supported by data, knowledge, and reasoning.
The right brain, on the other hand, is completely different. It is the source of creativity, epiphanic moments, and more nuanced perspectives. It’s imaginative, artistic, and musical.
We are all taught to use our left brains more and more as our society becomes more technical, which turns out to be at the expense of our right brains. In other words, the more we use our left brain, the less “space” we have for the insights our right brain provides.
As Iain McGilchrist shows in his tour-de-force of left/right brain research, The Master and His Emissary, once it gets its claws into something, the left brain actually inhibits the operation of the right. Here’s a video summary of the book:
What follows then? Knowledge fades away.
How can you therefore escape left-brained thinking and unleash your creativity? Naturally, hypnosis stimulates the right side of the brain. It encourages REM activity, which takes place when you sleep.
Knowing hypnosis is tremendously helpful if you’re busy because it inspires creativity with stunning speed.
And that’s significant because the majority of us don’t have the luxury of being able to spend hours sitting by a campfire staring into the flames and waiting for inspiration to strike.
Our Creativity Booster session is for just this purpose – getting yourself into creative flow quickly and reliably, and learning how to switch into right brain mode when you need to.
Give it a try now and enjoy the free ranging thoughts of right brained creativity!
To our thoughts escaping the clutches of the left brain,
